Pasture Sales Agronomist

We’re currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced Pasture Sales Agronomist to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager the focus of your role will be to consult and offer expert product knowledge on forage cropping and pasture management for our existing client base in Armidale and surrounding areas.  

 

 

 

About the opportunity:

 

Reporting to the Branch Manager you will provide agronomic and technical support to our farmers and producers in the region, offering both in-store and on-farm product sales. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients to enhance pasture health, productivity and sustainability across the New England region. You will manage and strengthen relationships with a list of existing customers, while creating new opportunities by delivering superior sales and agronomic input.

 

By fostering strong, long-term client relationships, you will develop a strong understanding of the clients’ business goals, sharing valuable technical and market information to enable clients to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming operations. 

 

Keeping relevant with latest plant production practices together with running and coordinating field days and farmer meetings will position you as the go-to subject matter expert in the region for pasture production, agronomic inputs and other advice. 

 

 

 

About You:

 

  • A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field.
  • Sound customer service, organisational, administrative and computing skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • The ability to work both independently and with our team to manage a growing client base.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding of the sales process and strong sales activity and call cycle management. 
  • A current driver’s license is essential. 
  • Your experience in an agronomic advisory role related to agricultural chemicals and fertiliser will be advantageous.
  • All levels of experience will be considered, including graduates.
