We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Farm Services Lead to develop our Victorian Agronomy team. This business-critical role will report into our East Region Farm Services Manager and will provide leadership to a cohesive agronomic team that strives to foster and develop talent.
Your primary objective will be to support, communicate, and enhance our agronomy network, aligning with the strategic goals of East Region Farm Services team.
Your Role at a Glance:
- Strategic Implementation: Lead the Farm Services strategy across VIC and engage with the network through organised agronomy meetings and field days, boosting skills and engagement.
- Training Excellence: Assess and address the training needs of our agronomy team, ensuring comprehensive and effective program rollouts. Stay ahead in agronomy trends and maintain superior technical skills. Monitor ongoing industry movements to keep our team at the forefront of agronomy innovations. Mentoring and training of junior agronomists.
- Resource Management: Champion the use and uptake of farm services resources, like FMIS, testing and sampling, and precision ag technologies.
- Manage trials and product demonstration and extension communications.
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all relevant legislative and compliance measures are communicated and upheld.
Drive Growth and Business Relations:
- Understand and promote branch, regional, and national objectives while maintaining market-leading technical knowledge.
- Effectively communicate market insights within the Nutrien network, enhancing product demand and sales opportunities.
- Cultivate key supplier relationships and support emerging technologies, aligning with Nutrien initiatives.
About you:
To be successful, you will have a strong technical agronomic background with a tertiary qualification in agronomy or related field. You will have at least 7 years of previous experience in farm production and agronomic fields and preferably an understanding of precision ag technologies.
You will:
- You will demonstrate previous leadership and facilitation success
- Current motor vehicle licence and flexibility to travel
- You will be self-motivated and driven to implement improvements in all areas of the agronomy function
- You will demonstrate success developing solid long-term partnerships with key stakeholders and be able to identify opportunities to develop new business.
