Reporting & Planning Manager – National FP&A

About the Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our FP&A team in the role of Reporting & Planning Manager.  

Reporting to the National Planning & Analysis Manager, and managing a team of four, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of all Nutrien Ag Solutions Australia’s management accounting tasks & associated reports. In this critical role, you will ensure the integrity of the general ledger and overall management reporting and provide decision-support for Local and Global Retail management.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting – Responsible for accurate & timely reporting of results to the Nutrien Leadership Team (NLT) as well as corporate reporting to North America, to provide commercial insights and visibility into performance;
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist with the coordination of the annual budget process, 5-year plan and quarterly forecasting, including overseeing the preparation of corporate department budgets & forecasts and coordinating the capital expenditure budgets & forecasts from collation through to sign-off;
  • Business Partnering – Manage the team through supporting specific areas of the business with reporting and analysis and the preparation of their annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
  • Capex Management – Lead the reporting of capital spend compared to budget/forecast as well as financial analysis of significant proposals and look-back analysis;
  • Competitor Analysis – Analyse the results of competitors (where available) to provide insight into competitors results and strategies compared to Nutrien;
  • Inventory Accounting – Management of national inventory accounting and reporting;
  • Payroll Accounting – Oversee the payroll accounting cycle and assist the Payroll Accountant with ensuring information flows accurately from the Payroll system to the general ledger;
  • People Management – Lead and develop a team of 4 accountants, including target setting & coaching;

 

About You:

  • Degree in Accounting/Commerce & professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA).
  • Proven knowledge of accounting standards and experience with management accounting and reporting activities
  • Proven knowledge of budget & forecast processes.
  • Proven management leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage conflicting and changing priorities.
  • An affinity with or interest in agriculture is desirable but not essential
