We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Advisor to join our small but dynamic Safety team. In this exciting and fast paced role, you will promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment across Nutrien operations by developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures. You will work proactively to identify and mitigate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, provide training and support to all employees, and reduce incidents while promoting a strong safety culture within the business.
Key responsibilities include:
• Promote occupational health and safety within the Nutrien Ag Solutions businesses and safer, healthier ways of working
• Ensure that workplaces comply with Nutrien procedures and safety standards
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the workplace, identifying potential hazards and/or risks
• Monitor and follow up on the corrective actions from audits and inspections to ensure timely resolution of identified safety concerns
• Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Present on health and safety initiatives to management and employees
• Assist with recommendations to the business on safe handling, storage and transport of Ag & Vet chemicals
• Assist with the rehabilitation of workers after injuries to ensure they experience a satisfactory return to work
• Collaborate with management to implement safety initiatives, identify trends and continuously improve the safety culture
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous exposure in a similar role would be ideal, however if you have a base knowledge of Health & Safety practices and a passion for workplace safety, we would love to hear from you
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and positively engage staff
• Ability to build trust and rapport with people and provide a solutions-based approach
• Active listener with a high level of emotional intelligence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to deliver messages tactfully and thoughtfully
• Ability to cold call when required and follow up on a regular basis with network staff via phone, email and in person
• Ability to travel regularly within the branch network (on average 3 days per week depending on business requirements)
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s license
