What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales, procurement, stock control & and assist the branch manager in driving the performance of the merchandise team. You will:
- Work closely with store management and sales teams, providing support to encourage improved performance.
- Conduct stock takes in accordance with company policy
- Ensure effective margin maximisation strategies are in place
- Have input on branch budgets
- Assist the Branch Manager in negotiations with suppliers and development of pricing strategies and stock levels.
- Conduct marketing initiatives with the aim of maintaining the businesses competitive position for all lines.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, climatic and seasonable considerations and develop a merchandise strategy to respond to these factors.
- Ensure professional and prompt customer service is provided by all sales staff to existing and prospective clients
What You'll Bring:
To be successful, you will have a strong technical background with experience in a similar role. In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Experience within pricing and margin management and sales target achievement through effective category development.
- Ability to network and identify opportunities for business development.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster solid long-term relationships.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Exposure to SAP is desirable, together with strong MS Excel for reporting.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Forklift and heavy rigid licence (Desirable).
