About the opportunity:

Reporting into the Category Manager - Animal Health, Animal Management, Fencing & General Merchandise & Water - West Region, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the procurement and management of the above mentioned categories products, including the management of inventory, as well as developing strong relationships with key suppliers. This is a critical role within our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will support the West region category team with planning and sourcing the above categories products for branches.
• You will assist with organising meetings with suppliers and branches as well as help drive the procurement strategy
• Provide high integrity analysis and advice on portfolio of products to the business and key stakeholders as required
• Support our branch network with pricing guidance and a key point of contact for our network, branch and activity staff.
• Inventory management – you will seek new ways to increase stock turns, reduce excess stock and minimise loss though expired and damaged stocks.
• Assist with managing inventory levels according to budget and manage the West Region price book for specific categories.

About You:

• To be successful you will have a strong understanding of Animal Health, Animal Management and Fencing products. Ideally, you’ll have a tertiary qualification in Animal Science or similar and have had retail rural merchandise experience.
• You will have an analytical mindset with critical thinking capability. You’ll have high attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate outcomes.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High skill level of Excel is mandatory, while experience with SAP and  PowerBI would be highly advantageous
