What You'll Do:

 

Based in Wynyard, you’ll manage and grow customer relationships across crop-focused agronomy, providing practical on-farm advice while supporting branch performance, seasonal planning and commercial opportunities.

 

  • Manage, protect and grow relationships with assigned customers, identifying their needs and ensuring follow-up service is delivered
  • Develop customer plans, call plans and targets to support customer retention, revenue growth and satisfaction
  • Provide on-farm technical agronomy advice, including crop and paddock rotations, soil and plant analysis, seed variety selection, fertiliser strategies, weed control and disease management
  • Use customer information, seasonal requirements and market changes to support inventory planning, forecasting and commercial opportunities
  • Build relationships with suppliers, industry contacts and internal teams while representing Nutrien at local industry events and customer activities

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • 3+ years’ experience as an agronomist is preferred, ideally with a crop-focused background and confidence providing on-farm advice. We are also open to hearing from local agronomists earlier in their career who are keen to establish themselves in the region.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Ag Science) or equivalent experience
  • Customer-first approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills across growers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Planning and commercial awareness, including forecasting, identifying opportunities and using customer data to drive outcomes
  • Motivation to establish yourself in a region where there is a genuine opportunity to grow your customer portfolio
  • Computer literacy and comfort using farm management systems
  • Current driver’s licence
