This position reports to the Senior Manager Market Research and can be located in Saskatoon, SK or Calgary, AB.
What you will do:
- Work together with Nutrien’s Market Research team to analyze and forecast key economic drivers of Nutrien’s businesses, which include fertilizer and agriculture commodity prices, trade, production and demand, focusing on international fertilizer markets.
- Gather and analyze data used to communicate market fundamentals to internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile the key internal and external market information and perform analysis to be used by senior leadership and Nutrien’s Executive Leadership Team.
- Monitor competitive intelligence, including tracking fertilizer project announcements, project progress, and market demand trends driving both short- and long-term market dynamics.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with Nutrien’s Pricing Strategy, Sales, Product Management and Transportation/Distribution and Logistics teams to utilize international market data to drive commercial team business outcomes.
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate/graduate degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Business, or Ag Business is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in economics or market research is required.
- Experience analyzing commodity markets, particularly agricultural commodities is an asset.
- Experience modeling supply and demand for commodities/products is an asset.
- Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is a requirement.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with quantitative analysis and data management.
- Agricultural industry knowledge and/or experience would be an asset.
- Self-starter and independent, ability to think critically and creatively.
