Reporting to the Director of Finance, Retail Supply Chain Management, North America, this role is a key strategic member of the Retail Finance department supporting the Supply Chain operating segment. This role is responsible for preparing, monitoring and evaluating plans and annual budgets, leveraging the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) function, reviewing or conducting analysis on major projects or business ventures, and analyzing performance against established financial targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. 

 

Our vision as a Financial Planning and Analysis organization is to be the "insight engine" of Nutrien Ag Solutions; this means closely partnering with commercial operating segment leadership to provide data driven financial analysis and insight to guide planning, forecasting, capital allocation and decision making. We are looking for a candidate who is an effective leader, innovative, and able to adopt emerging data technology tools to elevate FP&A processes and capture efficiencies. 

 

What you will do:

 

  • Demonstrate how finance can add value to maximize bottom line growth through effective business partnership.
  • Drive the effective and efficient delivery of supply chain goals with sound financial analysis and advice, balancing short, medium, and long-term financial planning and monitoring.
  • Contribute to the creation of analytics and monitoring of KPIs to measure the overall financial health of supply chain operations, SG&A, and working capital.
  • Provide strategic foresight by assessing key market indicators and recommending potential mitigation options for risk/exposures.
  • Provide management with sound risk-based analysis on potential working capital impacts and propose ways to mitigate risks on key economic and business exposures.
  • Provide functional expertise in key strategic projects, including obtaining appropriate internal approvals.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of budgets, strategic plans, quarterly presentations, forecasts, and monthly business narratives for the supply chain organization.
  • Partner with FP&A, capital team, and supply chain management to communicate and forecast capital requirements, perform DCF/IRR calculations, and monitor spend.
  • Partner with Procurement/IBP teams and supply chain management to communicate and forecast working capital and improve the cash conversion cycle (DSO/DOH/DPO).
  • Provide accurate, timely, and reliable financial reports to supply chain management.
  • Interpret financial information for Regional and Corporate management and provide financial consultation on supply chain business issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate with supply chain leadership to ensure that internal controls and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Lead functional areas toward integration of newly acquired or merged businesses into the supply chain organization.
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities, providing accounting with backup detail for journal entries and review of financial statements for accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis and related commentary for supply chain financial performance.
  • Lead and drive a broad change agenda together with the supply chain leadership team(s).
  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices in the supply chain finance industry.
  • Support in the development and tracking of the supply chain finance strategy for the respective stake holder.

 

What you will bring:

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required, with an MBA or equivalent being preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation preferred (CMA/CGA/CA/CPA).
  • 8+ years of related accounting or financial experience, with at least 3 years of managerial experience, preferably in a large multi-national company.
  • Previous experience working on large, highly complex projects with significant business impact.
  • Knowledge of North American agriculture markets an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in operational, financial, and legal entity accounting.
  • Excellent financial systems acumen and information technology mindset and orientation required.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across business units, balancing the requirements of the Corporate office and Retail.
  • Operational Excellence and performance improvement mindset.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate across finance groups to achieve cross functional success.
  • Able to see the bigger picture, having an overall view of impacts across the business including systems, management reporting, processes and workflows.
  • An understanding of working capital and supply chain structure.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

 

Salary Range $105,300 - $195,600/annually. This range is estimated for Manager, Retail Supply Chain, Regulatory Finance in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
