What You'll Do:
- Lead the credit granting process in accordance with Nutrien’s credit policy.
- Conduct annual and semi-annual credit reviews of existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct and maintain credit file reviews for all new and existing customers within an assigned area or region.
- Request, analyze, and interpret customer financial statements (last 2 year-end financials), engaging with the CFO/Controller as needed.
- Prepare detailed credit write-ups for all customers with $1 million+ in credit for upper management review.
- Thoroughly assess financial risk of customers using tools such as S&P Capital IQ and Nutrien’s scoring model.
- Determine appropriate credit limits, ensuring alignment between customer financial capacity and business needs.
- Review and submit for approval all changes to customer contracts or sales terms.
- Review and approve customer warehouse contracts within assigned territory.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Credit Manager to ensure proper security documentation (e.g., UCC filings) is completed and maintained to protect Nutrien’s collateral.
- Conduct customer visits for high-risk accounts to obtain and review financials in person.
- Negotiate credit risk mitigators, including Letters of Credit, Personal/Corporate Guarantees, Surety Bonds, and Credit Insurance.
- Collect and manage receivables in accordance with company policy and collection strategy.
- Follow up weekly on past due balances via phone and email to ensure timely resolution.
- Daily review of cash deposits and bank wires to ensure that A/R balances are being collected on a timely basis.
- Partner with Sales to assist in collections when disputes arise.
- Collaborate with A/R, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure customers have proper contacts and support for resolving issues.
- Build strong working relationships with Sales teams, providing regular updates on credit policies and procedures.
- Represent Nutrien at industry credit meetings, actively participating and providing subject matter expertise.
- Serve as backup for other Credit Managers as needed, supporting multiple territories when required.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (required).
- 6+ years of credit or financial analysis experience (required).
- CCE/CICP designations (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills a “must” to succeed at this position.
- International credit experience (preferred).
- Banking and loan approval experience (preferred).
- SAP experience (preferred).
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess credit risk.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while supporting multiple territories as needed.
