Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking applications for our 2022 Livestock Trainee Program. As a trainee with Australia’s leading agri-business, you will support our farmers to grow the world from the ground up.

The Nutrien Ag Solutions Livestock Trainee Program has been carefully designed to inspire, educate and support the next generation of specialists and leaders. Our Livestock Trainee Program attracts the brightest minds to a career in agriculture.

Working with our experienced livestock teams, our Livestock Trainees will be based in regional locations across QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA.

About the program

The Livestock Trainee Program is an entry level start into the business and offers successful candidates the chance to gain valuable experience in all aspects of the livestock activity while completing a Certificate in Livestock Marketing training program.

During the 24-month program all trainees will be involved in four leadership and skill-building workshops,  complete e-learning requirements and attend industry training programs.

Upon successful completion trainees will transition into livestock sales roles with a career that can take you into management within livestock or one of our other product offerings.

What participants will learn

  • Business skills – compliance, sales and client relationship building, communication, marketing and social media, understanding finance, problem solving and negotiation and leading and managing a team.
  • Livestock skills – next generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, Auctions Plus, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements and emerging technology.
  • Nutrien business products – rural supplies, wool, real estate, water, insurance and finance.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Livestock Trainee Program, you must have a strong desire to learn and succeed in the livestock industry, possess excellent customer service and communication skills. In addition, you will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of Year 12
  • A minimum of at least 12 months working in the Agriculture or similar industry with a strong preference for at least 12 months experience working with sheep and/or cattle
  • A current motor vehicle  license
  • A willingness to relocate to various locations throughout QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA
  • The initiative and passion to learn and work alongside experienced livestock personnel
  • Reliability and a good work ethic

All applications with be reviewed and select candidates will progress to an initial video interview with a member of our Talent Attraction Team. Short-listed candidates will proceed to another round of interviews, and successful applicants will be offered a position in December 2021, to commence the role from January 2022.
