What You'll Do:

• Provide supervision, guidance and coaching to Maintenance Supervisors and crew members to build capacity in their roles, while upholding all company policies and legal requirements
• Responsible for managing the mill mechanical maintenance activities in a safe manner, to achieve production goals, within approved budgets, and company guidelines
• Coordinate mechanical work between mechanical crews, operations and engineering departments
• Provide safety leadership by setting the example and ensure compliance with all safety and workplace rules
• Assist in the prioritization and assignment of work orders and coordinate major jobs to optimize availability of equipment
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the work order management process
• Participate in regular shutdown coordination and extended down planning activities to effectively utilize maintenance opportunities
• Utilize a thorough understanding of the collective bargaining agreement to collaborate with the local union and executive members to resolve labor relations issues
• Be available during off-hours, in case of emergency

What You'll Bring:

• Related Interprovincial Journeyperson, technical diploma, or Engineering degree, with 5-7 years of experience in an industrial or maintenance setting required
• 5 years’ experience in the planning and maintenance of operating equipment in an industrial environment, with direct supervisory experience required
• A strong commitment to safety with knowledge of OH&S, safety and environmental regulations and the ability to ensure compliance with such regulations
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Active listening skills to resolve concerns, conflicts and encourage team building
• Strong leadership and communication skills to build capacity in your team, coupled with the ability to engage and inspire, coach and mentor
• Computer proficiency with all Microsoft applications
• Knowledge and experience with Asset Management Systems/Software, Oracle experience is preferred
• Demonstrates strong commitment to continuous improvement and change management by actively seeking and implementing new ideas and proactively expanding knowledge on maintenance best practices
