What You'll Do:
Â
- Provide technical support to the Mill Operations and Maintenance Departments
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects; making feasibility and economic studies of alternative plans
- Perform engineering assignments for a wide range of mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental projects including foundation, structural and mechanical design
- Perform professional cost analyses and value engineering dutiesÂ
- Assist in establishing, modifying, and achieving the department's safety programs
- Assisting in the technical direction and training of engineering and operations personnel; providing technical guidance and work supervision for engineering, technical and professional staff as needed
- Monitoring the work of service providers to ensure that all regulations are being followed and work is being done safely
What You'll Bring:
Â
- A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in the field of Mechanical, Industrial Systems, or Civil Engineering required. If paired with some years of project management experience, other Engineering degrees will be considered.
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
- Varying levels of Engineers will be considered (Engineer-in-Training, Engineer, Sr. Engineer)
- Several years practical and progressively responsible experience in a heavy industrial environment is an asset
- Experience in project management, including the ability to supervise the work of other professional and technical staff and contractors/consultants is preferred
- Positive safety behaviour and safety leadership
