Job Summary
Reporting to Senior Manager, Truck, the Specialist, Canadian Truck is responsible for managing Canadian Ammonia and Industrial shipments in accordance with Nutrien’s sales plan. This will require interaction with both internal and external stakeholders requiring a collaborative and customer focus approach.Â
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate with carriers, customers and internal stakeholders to meet midstream truck shipping needs
- Be the main point of contact for all Ammonia and Industrial truck shipment inquiries Â
- Track, report and follow up on truck incidents and safety violations
- Prepare for and facilitate stakeholder meetings Â
- Analysis and reporting of freight spend, volumes and sourcing
- Process and procedure enhancement in support of transportation and business initiatives
- Working with Nutrien’s internal groups to ensure distribution strategies are being supported and executed
- Ensure adequate carrier capacity is in place to effectively execute on all truck shipping needs
- Steward toward the annual truck budget
- Supporting projects by providing analysis and undertaking assigned project roles related to area of expertise
What You'll Bring:
- 3-5 years logistics and/or supply chain experience
- Post-secondary education and/or and equivalent level of experience
- Effective communicator with a team mindset
- High level of accountability, ownership and attention to detail
- Ability to provide after hours and weekend support to carriers during fertilizer application seasons
- Comfortable challenging the status quo
- Capable to adjust to changing priorities
- Desire to understand the business
- Ability to think strategically and to translate that into tactical action
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of SAP & HANA would be considered an asset
