This position reports to the Mine CI & Reliability Manager.
Â
What You'll Do:
Â
- Creation, maintenance, and updating of PowerBI reports to support Mine department decision making
- Support routine reporting processes across a variety of areas including production, maintenance, and safety
- Facilitate the digitalization and automation of data collection, entry, and reporting
- Review mine process data, identify data quality issues, and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Conduct ad hoc data analyses as requested by mine department teams
- Providing mentorship to mine operations engineering support interns
- Communicate with underground work force as well as peers across the Nutrien potash network on data and analysis topics
- Collaborate with all mine department teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Facilitate meetings with process stakeholders to identify
- Engage with underground frontline workers and supervisors in the mine to identify and support improvement opportunities
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Three or more years of experience working with data and analysis. Experience working in this area in a mining context would be an asset.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, especially PowerBI
- A technical degree in engineering, data science, or computer science would be an asset
- Effective communication skills, including presenting to groups
- Excellent data analysis skills
- Proven ability to work across different functional groups
- Excellent problem-solving skills and proven work ethic
- Ability to develop and adapt new concepts and innovate approaches
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
