Mechanical Engineer (Temporary)

This position reports to the Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer. Preference will be given to individuals who have underground mining experience and or relevant industrial experience. 

What you will do:

• Assist the Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer in all aspects of the mine engineering department, including equipment selection, mechanical design, drafting, developing work scopes, project management, contractor management, inspections and other assigned duties
• Provide maintenance engineering support to maintain and develop underground facilities, equipment, and processes
• Foster a positive safety culture and be a safety leader

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in groups
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication in professional setting with diverse groups
• Mechanical Engineering degree
• Must be registered or be eligible for registration with APEGS; P. Eng designation (through APEGS) is an asset
• Ability to work underground
• Understanding of underground potash mining is an asset
• Eligible to work in Canada
