This position reports directly to the Lab Supervisor.

 

What you will do:

 

- Work in a safe, diligent, and organized manner

- Plan, organize, and perform sampling throughout the mill and loadout 

- Process samples in the lab to obtain analytical results

- Perform data analysis, mass balancing, and presentation of sampling results; interpret results and make recommendations

- Monitor the performance and accuracy of all on-line analyzers and report abnormalities

- Initiate required calibrations or maintenance of analyzers

- Initiate, plan, and execute process improvement projects

- Manage procurement and inventory of site process reagents 

 

What you will bring:

 

- Chemical Technology, Mining Engineering Technology, or equivalent diploma or degree program

- Experience in an industrial laboratory

- Mining experience preferred

- Familiarity with proper sampling procedures, laboratory instrumentation, on-line analyzers, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices

- Demonstrated self-motivation, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and initiative to achieve desired outcomes

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including being comfortable working with multiple functions in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, team environment
