This position is located at the Nutrien Allan Potash site and reports directly to the Mill Operations General Foreman.
What you will do:
- Maintain function and reliability of the Mill Operations Department systems equipment by liaising with the Mill Maintenance Department
- Improve Mill Operations and Loadout Department systems and equipment by studying performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing improvement opportunity
- Plan, schedule, and integrate operational activities into the Maintenance schedule
- Assist driving improving key performance indicators such as availability, PM compliance, and schedule compliance among others
- Drive improving Operational Excellence via engaging and building consensus with crews in formulating and standardizing additional and improved safety and standard operating procedures (SOP’s), investigating and using technologies to improved safety, operator effectiveness and plant optimization
- Win-Stets & Lockboxes
- Assist with implementation and training of department operators and supervisor on technologies using field electronic and desktop computer device, systems, and programs to improve their effectiveness and efficiency for system checks, PM’s, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures
What you will bring:
- Grade 12 required; additional education in technical, engineering or journeyman status would be beneficial, but is not a requirement
- Good working knowledge of the operational and maintenance processes and systems of a conventional mill and loadout operations
- Ability to communicate effectively for receiving input, listen to suggestions/inputs, engage, and build consensus amongst operations crews in order to generate optimum results
- Ability to work effectively with other groups on site, safety, process engineering, plant engineering, and maintenance department
- Skill set to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner for weekly, monthly, and planned shutdown planning purposes; with a mind-set of continuous improvement
- Experience within shift operations required to enable, understand, formulate, and decide on optimum solutions, systems, plans, schedules and standard operating procedures for loadout and mill departments
- Basic understanding of current EAM system (or equivalent) would be an asset, used to plan and facilitate planned maintenance and operations PM and regular work order scheduling and execution
