What You'll Do:

 

The Mine Electrical Supervisor will report directly to the Mine Electrical General Foreman.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Maintain safe working conditions for electrical maintenance
  • Responsible for all electrical maintenance of underground mining equipment and repair in case of emergency electrical breakdowns
  • Supervise cable repairs and ensures that the stench gas system is operational
  • Supervise the installation of all new electrical equipment, solid-state starters, transformers etc
  • Electrical supervisor looks after crew of electricians who undertake electrical maintenance and installations in the mine
  • Plan employee’s work and direct the work force

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Electrical Journeyperson certificate or relevant engineering degree, and a supervisor’s ticket
  • 3 -5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or construction
  • First aid certificate
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems in the mining industry would be an asset
  • Ability to provide instruction, observe work practices, evaluate performance, provide feedback and guidance
  • A high degree of up to date technical knowledge is required
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to build and apply a systemic approach to maintenance 
  • Maintain current knowledge of the collective agreement, company rules, policies and government laws and regulations
