What You'll Do:

 

The Pathologist is responsible for diagnosing and researching plant diseases, identifying effective treatment and prevention methods to ensure crop health and optimize yield.  This role involves diagnosing plant diseases, developing treatment plans and researching methods to prevent and control diseases.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and diagnose plant diseases using laboratory tests, fields observations and diagnostic tools.
  • Research and develop methods for disease control and prevention. Investigate the impact of environmental factors on plant health.
  • Prepare reports and make necessary recommendations. 
  • Collect and analyze data on plant health, disease prevalence and treatment efficacy.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • May perform soil analysis, disease diagnosis, or field trials to identify effectiveness of various fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural products.
  • Model our core value of safety by enabling a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Some travel may be involved for on-site field calls.
  • Other duties as required.

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor's in plant pathology, plant science, or biology required; Master’s or Ph.D. in plant pathology, or other related fields preferred.
  • Three years of experience in plant pathology or related field. 
  • Experience with laboratory and field research.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role, in Anaheim, CA location, is between $28.51 - $30.00. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
