The Accountant will be part of a team that is responsible for providing financial accounting expertise and support to our Nitrogen and Phosphate Operations. This role will also be supporting initiatives to drive process improvements and consistency across all Nitrogen and Phosphate plant accounting areas. 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Act as part of a team that is responsible for providing financial and operations accounting expertise to support plant accounting functions.
  • Become subject matter expert for processes included in your role which may include complex agreements.
  • Complete and improve month end close processes.
  • Participate in automation and process improvement projects.
  • Verify the proper accumulation of product flows through our production areas and verification of month end accumulations and reporting (OPM).
  • Perform raw material and finished product cost accounting.
  • Understand, identify and implement required internal controls, including certification reporting, audit responses and SOX controls.
  • Participation in the physical asset verification process.
  • Ensure Balance Sheet Accounts are effectively analyzed and managed.
  • Complete Capital Project and Fixed Asset Accounting.
  • Prepare moderate and high-risk account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Other related duties as required.

What You'll Bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field, with a professional accounting designation or working towards. 
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience working in a plant environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounting/financial concepts and principles.
  • Understanding of GAAP/IFRS applications in a business environment.
  • Experience with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data base tools such as Power Query.
  • Strong communications and collaboration skills along with interpersonal awareness.
  • Commitment to deadlines and attention to detail.
  • A desire to grow and develop.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $71,900 - $123,200. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
