What you will do:
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Conduct safety orientations for contractors as required
- Review and approve contractor safety plans and standards
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections of contractor work sites
- Active field presence, 75% to ensure awareness of safety protocols by all personnel on site. This will require the person being in the field, available, approachable, and technically sound
- Provide safety support for contractor groups by attending their safety meetings/toolbox talks, providing orientation, monitoring work, and verifying contractors have what is needed to perform work in compliance with plant safety requirements
- Conduct safety audits (Life Critical assessments) for Nutrien employees and contractors on site during work activities
- Execute job hazard analysis for non-routine work where extraordinary risk may be present
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Attend Emergency Response training as an active participant and support resource
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related issues
- Participate in safety committee meetings and initiatives
- Support safety initiatives during turnarounds and outages, which may include adjusted & extended working hours
What will you bring?
- High School diploma required
- Minimum 3 - 5 Years chemical manufacturing experience and process plant safety experience required
- Specific knowledge related to safety regulations and compliance practices
