What will you do:

  • Ensures the Distribution and traffic area is operated and maintained in accordance with Process Safety Management (PSM) guidelines
  • Lead and manage daily operations of shipping, distribution, and dispatch for ammonia and urea products
  • Coordinate railcar and truck loading schedules, ensuring alignment with production and customer delivery timelines
  • Ensure the proper coordination of maintenance repair activities
  • Lead and facilitate the departmental safety and environmental efforts, programs, (i.e., observations, KPASs, LCAs safety meetings) and regulatory compliance and ensures employee understanding of these areas
  • Maintain compliance with all hazardous materials transport regulations (49 CFR, FRA rules, OSHA standards)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with rail and trucking providers to ensure timely and cost-effective service
  • Track shipments in real time and proactively resolve any delays or disruptions
  • Collaborate with plant, warehouse, and customer service teams to streamline logistics processes
  • Conduct performance appraisals on direct reports and sets goals and objectives for their job performance and professional development
  • Analyze transportation and distribution data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Manage inventory and ensure accurate documentation of shipments and regulatory paperwork
  • Lead safety initiatives and conduct regular audits of loading areas and procedures
  • Supervise personnel and provide training and support for professional development

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial shipping/distribution, preferably in chemical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FRA hazardous materials regulations
  • Experience managing logistics involving both rail and trucking networks
  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and shipment tracking tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Certification in Transportation Management or Hazardous Materials Handling
  • Familiarity with ammonia/urea chemical handling protocols
