This is an open and continuous posting for Mechanics, Maintenance Supervisors, Welders, Warehouse Superintendents, Maintenance Engineers, and I&E Power Distribution Engineers in Aurora, NC.
Mechanic
This position will report to the Superintendent within the assigned department.
What you will do:
- Perform all work in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to safety and environmental policies
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Nutrien, Occupational Health Safety Administration, Mining Health Safety Administration, and Marine Security guidelines
- Uses proper Personal Protection Equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, face shield, flash suits, and personal environmental monitors
- Work as part of a team to complete assignment and minimize down-time
- Perform daily maintenance and overhauls on various types of equipment
- Perform daily and routine preventative maintenance on equipment
- Repair various other types of static equipment, including heat exchangers, tanks, screws, elevators, and boilers
- Work as a productive team member and support continuous improvement
- Cross-training and working in all areas of the facility, as required
- Perform work from elevated structures, ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, personnel-baskets and confined spaces
- Complete mechanic progression training, as required and within timelines
- Follow all safety rules and regulations as set forth by Company
- Work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals
What you will bring:
- High school diploma, or GED equivalent; post-secondary courses and training are preferred
- Possess a high-degree of integrity and ownership

- Ability to read, understand and comply with standards, policies and procedures
- Be a self-starter and work with little supervision; willing to work overtime, as required

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting rate $30.53 - $43.47 per hour (plus available overtime).

Technician, Instrumentation & Electrical
This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
What you will do:
- Maintain, replace, and diagnose all instrument/electrical components in and around the Nutrien Chemical Processing and Mining area
- Monitor equipment systems to ensure components are fully operational and working to optimal capacity
- Oversee and direct the support personnel’s daily activities, manage Process Safety Management reporting, conducting periodic inspections, maintain, and operate equipment and systems in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for the purpose of processing the highest quality products
- Troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, operate, and perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, digital, mechanical devices and control systems
- Act to prevent or avoid production losses and secure a safe work environment
- Direct, coordinate and utilize the abilities and skills of other persons in the trade group, other assisting trade groups, trainees, and helpers to maintain all instrumentation and electrical equipment to a high level of reliability at minimum cost
- Required to work at high elevations and in open spaces such as platforms and/or catwalks
- Wear required, company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)--i.e., uniforms, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, emergency breathing apparatus
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred
- Relevant vocational training and/or successful completion of apprenticeship as an Electrician
- Proven experience as an Electrician in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (i.e., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations/guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Warehouse Superintendent
This position will report to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager
What you will do:
- Safely execute work while also assuring all work meets plant quality standards
- Observe employee work performance in the work environment and take corrective actions to ensure that work activities are in compliance withcompany policies and procedures
- Ensure that all unsafe conditions are reported and corrected
- Demonstrate and encourage by example a cooperative attitude toward safety among plant personnel
- Develop and administer departmental policies and procedures that increase operational uniformity, effectiveness and efficiency
- Train, develop, and motivate departmental personnel toward greater individual productivity to ensure accomplishment of department andcompany goals
- Create and maintain an atmosphere which demands excellent business ethics and integrity
- Provide leadership and ensures compliance with all safety, regulatory, environmental and company programs, including Federal, State andLocal regulations
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnelpolicies and procedures
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders forrepair, and requisitions for replacement
- Maintain equipment history and documentation (owner of BOM’s)
- Track of stores inventory and disposal of obsolete inventory
- Verify alll critical spare equipment is availabl for required work orders
- Seek continuous improvement of warehouse functionalities and iprove inventory control processes
- Track all monthly maintenance expenditures and prepare variance reports
- Conduct post job reviews to compare actual work performed to plan and identify and analyze variances
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates, anddeveloping and monitoring department goals
What you will bring:
- Engineering B.S. Degree in Mining, Chemical or Mechanical Disciplines or Accounting degree is preferred.
- Subjects of importance include
- materials handling, warehouse management, accounting principles
- Ten years of practical experience in Warehouse Management/Material Handling/Industrial Maintenance or a closely related industry is alsopreferred

Maintenance Engineer
This position reports directly to the Chemical Superintendent.
Maintenance department is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support for plant maintenance activities. The Maintenance Engineer will interface primarily with hourly maintenance employees, salaried maintenance planners and foremen, and contracted maintenance resources as well as interacting with operations personnel. The position requires understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance activities and work processes, general and detailed knowledge of categories of rotating equipment and stationary equipment, repair practices, and industry codes.
What you will do:
- Engineering support for Maintenance department in performing preventive maintenance (PM) and repair activities for critical plant equipment, including fixed assets and rotating machinery
- Provide analysis of failed equipment to determine and eliminate cause(s)
- Primary focus is on rotating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in support of operating unit's business goals
- Oversight of equipment lubrication program. Develop vendor goals for continued improvement
- Advise on proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for both rotating and fixed assets. Where necessary support job plans and shop documentation, and procedures in these activities
- Perform safety and work quality audits of hourly employees executing maintenance activities
- Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants
- Develop and maintain job plans for specific repair activities
- Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment
- Support site Maintenance Department planners and foremen as required
- Ownership of site vibration program, including training of new technicians, analyzing & providing balance corrections for rotating equipment, and participation on the PotashCorp Rotating Equipment Team
- Provide the first line of technical support to maintenance foremen and operating personnel for issues related to stationary and rotating equipment maintenance and reliability
- Provide assistance with equipment performance troubleshooting as requested/required supplying technical expertise to operations, providing leadership to the mechanical maintenance resources, administering the maintenance processes and budget, monitoring performance indicators, and assisting in or executing small projects
What you will bring:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years industrial plant maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience
- 10+ years chemical/petrochemical plant maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience preferred
- 1 to 2 years Vibration Analysis Experience
- 1 to 2 years Lubrication program experience
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and verbal/written communication skills
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with proven success working independently and in a multi-functional team environment
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite of software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience in a leadership role; temporary or interim assignment acceptable
- Well rounded field experience applying maintenance engineering principals to mechanical repair work for a variety of typical process plant equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical machinery design, selection, repair techniques and performance assessment
- Knowledge of engineering materials chemical compatibility and application as relates to plant equipment reliability
- Hands-on experience using CMMS work management system
- Practical experience facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis utilizing a selection of industry standard tools
- Working knowledge of drafting and project planning software (e.g. AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project, Primavera,)
- Turbo machinery expertise, with ownership of turbo machinery inspection/overhaul program
- Knowledge of the Bently Nevada vibration monitoring systems or equivalent
- Vibration analysis program ownership
- Lubrication program ownership
I&E Power Distribution Engineer
This position reports directly to the Superintendent
What you will do:
- Manage work programs, annual work plans, and a budget necessary to maintain and build the electric power system based off system analysis and in accordance with all applicable codes
- Perform analysis such as power flow, voltage drop modeling, available fault current calculations, load balancing, protective device coordination, and sectionalizing analysis necessary to ensure safe and reliable operation of the cooperatives power system
- Responsible for oversight of Nutrien employees and contractors working on the power system to ensure compliance with Rural Utility Service bulletins, the National Electric Safety Code, and company policies
- Manage the power distribution team to maintain the distribution systems including transformers, substation, breakers, protective relaying thermal imaging and all other processes needed to ensure stable power distribution system
- Work with Nutrien site staffing on Transmission/Distribution during Emergency Operations, during adverse weather events to track delivery point outages as well as coordinate restoration efforts
- Manages capital projects with responsibilities including detail design or supervision of contract engineering services, cost control and reporting construction management including plans, organizes, and contractor resources, schedules and management status reports, prepare purchase requisitions and bid analysis, and manages startup and training
- Performs field quality inspections of project construction and plant equipment which requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, or inclines; walk on irregular surfaces; and lift moderately heavy parts and equipment
What you will bring:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
- This position requires a in depth understanding of electrical power distribution systems and engineering principles. A minimum of five years in the power distribution engineering and design and/or power distribution maintenance engineer
- Must be knowledgeable of plant safety and environmental policies and procedures and regulatory compliance criteria
- Ability to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina is desired
- The ability to utilize personal computers and other computer aids is essential
- Must become familiar with quality improvement, "teaming", empowerment, and statistical techniques and skills
- Seminars, meetings, and continuing education in the field of expertise are required to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge
- A detailed knowledge of project engineering and a general knowledge of fertilizer processes is preferred
