What You'll Do:
- Conduct routine safety inspections of departmental systems and equipment (e.g., showers, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, EBAs, alarms).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab instruments and general equipment (e.g., compressors, vacuum pumps), including calibration, cleaning, and part replacement.
- Maintain Instrument Maintenance Logs and ensure accurate documentation.
- Troubleshoot critical equipment issues and follow up on Instrument Tracking Reports (ITRs) as a technical resource for the shift.
- Analyze routine and non-routine samples using various lab instruments and methods; enter results into the LIMS system.
- Prioritize sample and analsyis requests from Process Development and Engineering teams.
- Generate analytical data for process and shipment samples to support product quality control and assurance.
- Analyze customer samples from metal finishing operations and coordinate with external labs as needed.
- Monitor lab inventory through audits and updates to inventory sheets.
- Perform statistical quality control charting.
- Adhere to all site safety and environmental protocols.
- Store hazardous waste in compatible, intact containers within designated accumulation areas.
- Ensure containers remain closed except during waste transfer; maintain empty secondary containment.
- Conduct weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to verify labeling, closure, freeboard, and containment compliance.
- Transfer hazardous waste from satellite to central accumulation areas as required.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field + 1–3 years experience (preferred)
- High school diploma + 3–5 years lab or related experience
- Strong integrity and personal accountability
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
- Experience in chemical, refinery, or manufacturing industries (preferred)
