This position reports directly to the Central Maintentance Supervisor.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Nutrien, OSHA, MSHA, and MARSEC guidelines
  • Use proper Personal Protection Equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, face shield, flash suites, and personal environmental monitors
  • Assist in completing safe work permits tasks by confirming proper PPE is used, proper safety procedures are followed, Lock Out/Tag Out completed, and barricades are in place before work begins
  • Complete Craft Training and Progression Plan training by testing for each module in the allotted timeframe to ensure steady progression is achieved from Level 8 to Level 13
  • Assist with PM tasks by following PM check sheet and signing off to indicate tasks have been completed, forwards to supervisor for review
  • Utilize consumable supplies during repair activities to ensure they are used in the most cost-effective manner
  • Monitor/maintain potable water deep wells (7 total), 56 lift stations, waste water treatment plant, 7 leach field systems
  • Assist in troubleshooting work-related problems by using established work methods to isolate concerns, and then uses proven repair techniques and best practice to complete work tasks
  • Perform housekeeping duties of an assigned area by cleaning area prior to job completion, turns in completed paper work indicating area is clean
  • Develop scope of job to determine tools necessary to complete tasks, follows up on job package and reviews changes with supervisor
  • Conduct daily inspections of mobile equipment by using the mobile equipment checklist before using the equipment
  • Update job activities by documenting any changes to the job package and reviewing with supervisor
  • Read blueprints and other technical documents to assess building needs and pipe/plumbing fixture plans
  • Update blueprints and other drawings of changes to facility plumbing and piping
  • Determine materials needed for each new project; estimates time and cost
  • Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures
  • Affixe clamps, screws, brazing, soldering, welds, etc. to pipes and tubes
  • Measure and modifies pipes accordingly by cutting, threading, or bending pipes by using specialized tools
  • Install and/or repairs household appliances like dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks, etc.
  • Diagnose plumbing problems and work to resolve any issues
  • Repair or replaces damaged parts
  • Locate and repairs water line leaks and remove clogs
  • Confirm pipe system is air/watertight by performing pressure tests
  • Maintain detailed notes and creates work reports documenting projects
  • Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper functioning

 

What you will bring:

 

  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) testing is required for all hourly applicants of Nutrien-Aurora and must be uploaded along with your resume during the application process to be considered for employment with Nutrien-Aurora. Applicants must complete this test and meet a minimum of 4 in Graphic Literacy, 5 on Applied Mathematics and 5 on Workplace Documents in order to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien.
  • Must pass a pre-employment exam and drug screening

  • Vocational certification or Associate’s Degree; and/or two years’ relevant experience in industry-related position, is preferred

  • Experience reading technical designs and blueprints.
  • Proficiency using plumbing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Learning the details of Standard Maintenance Procedures, safety, and environmental procedures, production, and regulations are necessary to become a competent Plumber
  • This position requires an individual to demonstrate reliability, responsiveness, and dependability
  • Attention-to-details and thoroughness in completing work tasks
  • A valid driver's license is required due to offsite locations for work to be performed

 

 

Benefits:

 

Starting rate $30.53-35.45 per hour (plus available overtime).

Nutrien offers a skills-based pay compensation program.  Hourly rates can progresses based on On-Job-Training, formal learning, and observation of new skills.
