This position will reports directly to the Manager of Chemical Operations. Direct reports to this position will include General Supervisors and Engineers, ensuring each one has achieved production and technical goals for their areas at the optimum levels. Areas of
responsibility include the planning, coordinating, and developing mid to long term plans for the operation to achieve the maximum result out of each process and resource. The position is one of strategic planning to produce quality Sulfuric products. Providing a safe environment, producing a quality product on time, being environmentally responsible (work within permit parameters), and improving profitability are required to be successful in this position.
What you will do:
• Plan, organize, direct and control operating plant activities to achieve annual production volumes and plant recoveries/efficiencies
• Develop and maintain sound working relationships with superiors, peers and subordinates to obtain cooperation and resolve conflicts in a timely manner
• Evaluate, train and develop direct reports and their subordinates to enhance job performance and achieve plant objectives
• Ensure optimization of manpower resources, raw materials, operating supplies and contract services to produce forecast production volumes at or below budgeted costs
• Ensure product meets all specifications for internal use and shipment to customers
• Ensure implementation of and compliance with all applicable safety procedures and regulations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, statutes, and codes; and assist to secure permits
• Ensure the Management of Change Procedure is in place on plant modifications and upgrades and ensure closure
• Ensure all monitoring equipment required to meet federal, state and local environmental regulations is in place and functional and correct environmental deficiencies immediately
• Ensure optimum plant performance and high operating factor by requiring maintenance planning, scheduling and work execution
• Ensure effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs for production equipment are in place.
• Prepare plant budgets and propose, justify and ensure implementation of capital improvements
• Provide operating information and requirements to other departments regarding needed process and equipment changes
• Prepare appropriate reports, statistics and recommendations on production activities
• Assist in the formulation of emergency response and recovery plans for assigned areas
• Assist in maintaining all required records for OSHA and other regulatory agencies
• Assist in contingency and emergency response planning and training of personnel for control, containment, cleanup and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous spills
• Conduct periodic safety inspections of buildings, grounds, production equipment, etc
What you will bring:
• B.S in engineering, minimum 10 years' experience in chemical operations
• Advance degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred
• Previous supervisory experience
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements relating to overall operations and those specific to assigned area
• Proficiency in computer programs used in area, e.g. Microsoft Office, etc

We are offering relocation assistance, 410K, Medical Dental, Vision, and Short Term incentive programs. Salary Ranges from 150K-175K depending on experience.
