This position reports directly to the General Supervisor, Anhydrous Hydrogen Fluoride and has 8 direct reports

 

This position is located in Aurora, North Carolina, U.S.A. and is not available for remote work

 

What you will do:

 

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in producing AHF by reaction of sulfuric acid with HFSA in continuous process
  • Direct workers in changes regarding operating processes, work procedures, and production rates according to production instructions
  • Examine materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specifications
  • Observe machines and equipment for malfunction and orders adjustments or repairs, or directs workers to make adjustments or repairs
  • Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and assign duties and job orders to workers
  • Establish or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Expedite late list and rush list daily to meet plant and customer deliveries
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
  • Communicate with sales and project management to work on estimating lead times, material cost, and labor
  • Coordinate activities of individual departments rotating labor as needed
  • Set up machines and equipment
  • Perform activities of workers supervised
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet any regulatory requirements or standards as prioritized by Nutrien
  • Inform management of any Safety and Environmental or any processes which become non-compliant with specified requirements
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to the quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system

 

What you will bring:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, is required
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in engineering from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • If a current Nutrien employee, incumbent must meet all the requirements on the supervisory promotion checklist; have at least 5 years’ experience at this site, a minimum of competent rating on last performance appraisal, better-than-average attendance record, as well as a demonstrated, consistent compliance record with safety and environmental goals, and record of team participation
  • Ability to wear required, company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)--i.e., uniforms, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, emergency breathing apparatus
  • Ability to be clean shaven for safety requirements
  • Technical knowledge in the areas of chemical processing, chemical shipping regulations, OSHA and Environmental regulations, preparation of capital and operating budgets, Technical and business writing, employee relations, and safe work practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
