What You'll Do:

 

    • Lead and oversee all mine production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

    • Manage daily production schedules, coordinate shift activities, and address safety or productivity issues as they arise.

    • Supervise a team of eleven Mine Operations employees, ensuring adherence to safety, health, environmental, and company standards.

    • Conduct routine site inspections to verify safe work practices, housekeeping, and operational compliance.

    • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, safety, training, and departmental teams to support production goals and resolve operational challenges.

    • Coordinate production needs with Mine Maintenance and initiate maintenance work requests when required.

    • Analyze performance data and implement improvements to enhance safety, productivity, equipment utilization, and cost control.

    • Recommend enhancements to production methods, workforce performance, and overall work quality.

    • Oversee training and development to ensure personnel competency and strong operational performance.

    • Foster positive working relationships between management and hourly employees.

    • Manage resource allocation, supply needs, and verification of timekeeping data.

    • Support employee involvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    • Work in elevated or open areas such as platforms or catwalks when necessary.

 

What You'll Bring:

 

    • Supervisory training and comprehensive knowledge of mine operations gained through progressive operational roles and a formal supervisory assessment program.

    • Preferably 2+ years of mining leadership experience with a proven record of directing and coordinating production activities.

    • Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, lead and motivate personnel at all levels, and maintain strong working relationships.

    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; highly motivated and capable of working independently.

    • Ability to recognize changing ground conditions and adjust work plans and equipment usage to maintain safe operations.

    • Skilled in conducting meetings and maintaining accurate records related to timekeeping, safety, production, and personnel.

    • Physical capability, strength, and dexterity to inspect all operational areas affecting safety and environmental integrity.

    • Technical degree or bachelor’s degree preferred; dragline operation and material haulage experience also preferred.

    • Ability to clearly communicate verbal and written instructions, task directions, and job assignments.

    • Must be able to wear required PPE (uniforms, steel‑toed boots, safety glasses) and may be required to be clean‑shaven for safety compliance.
