Operations Lead

What you will do:  

• Receive, store and ship fertilizer product safely and efficiently using computerized equipment 

• Oversee staff workload on a daily basis and assist in training terminal staff. Act as a liaison between terminal staff and the manager to bring forward concerns and issues for discussion  

• Review operating standards and procedures and ensure processes and procedures are followed including government regulations 

• Schedule rail traffic using computerized system and ensure bills of lading, release forms, inventory and dangerous goods forms are completed correctly 

• Maintain control systems such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), computer interface and compressors in a safe and efficient manner to store fertilizer 

• Troubleshoot operational and maintenance problems; make recommendations for resolutions. Confirm maintenance records are completed 

• Schedule and supervise contractors; complete appropriate permits and work orders 

• Perform general building and site maintenance. Maintain security and fire systems 

• Ensure records are kept current on equipment checks, safety equipment, inventory levels and emergency response equipment 

• Liaise with other departments as required to ensure smooth operation of the terminal  

• Perform other related duties as required 

What you will bring: 

• Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented with post-secondary training, preferred 

• 4+ years related experience  

• Valid driver’s license required (CLASS 1 A)

• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment 

• Computer capable to operate computerized manufacturing or processing equipment 

• Experience in operating and maintaining PLC systems
