Position: Heavy Equipment Technician
Location: BNO Borger
Department: PFW/Millwright
What will you do:
- Safely operating assigned heavy equipment (such as Cranes, Forklifts, Loaders, Skid Steers, and Backhoes) according to site procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and identify/report safety issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Manage the rigging connex inventory and maintain annual inspections.
- Plan and coordinate critical lifts, ensuring proper rigging and load security.
- Work collaboratively with crew members and follow all Nutrien safety policies and procedures.
- Identifying and actively reporting workplace safety hazards or unsafe conditions and participating in stop work procedures if needed to ensure safety.
- Assisting in daily site housekeeping, observing environmental and site safety policies for materials handling, waste, and hazardous substances.
- Participating in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support the continuous improvement efforts and display a proactive mindset.
What you will bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Valid NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
- Valid NCCER’s Basic Rigging Certification
- Experience operating various heavy equipment, including cranes, loaders, and forklifts.
- Strong safety mindset with knowledge of site safety practices and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCCER’s Rigging Level II or NCCCO’s Advanced Rigger
- Experience in an industrial or construction environment.
