Under the leadership of the Division General Manager, this position is accountable for the overall management, development and financial success of defined sub-trading area within the scope of a Division 

 

What you will do: 

  • Oversee the sales and operation of a designated territory, including inventory, receivables, product delivery and sales.
  • Meet or exceed Profit and Loss objectives for the assigned locations.
  • Ensure all branches effectively promote Nutrien key products for the Division and develop strategies to achieve expected levels of sales and growth.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to sales staff to assure that sales and margin objectives are met. Provide direction to increase customer base and improve profitability.
  • Ensure branches in designated territory are optimizing inventory to meet customers’ requirements, while maintaining appropriate turns.
  • Reviews and analyzes progress towards the achievement of sales forecasts and operational objectives on a regular basis, and initiates action as required. Ensures accurate sales forecasts and expected final results.
  • Responsible for all aspects of human resource management within the Branch including hiring, promoting, performance management, coaching and discharging within company policy and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for managing within and implementing the terms and conditions of the collective agreement(s), where applicable.
  • Analyzes capital requirements and provides recommendations regarding capital budget needs to the Division General Manager.
  • Supports Divisional teams in the preparation of all budget and forecasting processes.
  • Complies and enforces all Nutrien and industry regulatory and safety, health and environment standards.
  • Ensures standards are met for inventory control, cycle counts and annual audit process.
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

 

What you will bring: 

  • Agricultural or Commerce based degree or equivalent experience of 5 years.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of demonstrated successful experience of farm supply marketing. Three (3) years of this experience must have been in a management capacity.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to complete a Criminal Background Check, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and Driving Record Abstract as required by Nutrien Ag Solutions policies.
  • Strong ability to lead and manage people; exceptional coaching and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited guidance from others.
  • Proven knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the agriculture industry as well as the application of agricultural chemicals.
  • High degree of oral and written communication capabilities and strong listening skills.
  • Strategic thinker, with ability to understand financial statements; ability to develop and execute sales growth plans across multiple branches.
  • Required knowledge/understanding of branch operations and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and company agronomic programs.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Extensive travel by vehicle required.
