Reporting to the Manager, Global Mobility the Global Mobility Advisor will be part of the Total Rewards Team supporting the Global Mobility Program.  Relocation Activities may also carry Immigration, Taxation responsibilities. This role will work collaboratively with Global Mobility Team members and other HR clients providing high touch customer service to our internal colleagues with emphasis on the employee experience.

 

What you will do:

  • Achieve a solid understanding of Nutrien’s global mobility policies and procedures, across all global locations, to be able to provide guidance and support to HR partners and employees, make administrative and procedural recommendations and exercise judgment on sensitive issues in alignment with corporate policy/regulations.
  • Support the Global Mobility Program with mobility casework, reporting and various special projects.
  • Independently carry relocation caseload and provide periodic updates to the leader and HR.
  • Support the ongoing development and continuous improvement initiatives within all involved parties by participating in activities such as the review and update of process and policy documentation.
  • Safeguard employee privacy where appropriate, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive information.
  • Create individual cost estimates for all relocation activity. Provide budget recommendations to leaders and HR for individual cases and during annual budget season.
  • Support the day to day (GBO) Guaranteed Buyout and Buyer Value Option (BVO) programs.
  • Escalates policy exception requests to HR and management for their consideration and approval.
  • Oversee Canadian and US immigration activity, acting as a liaison between Nutrien’s immigration provider, HR Managers and the employees involved in Intercompany Transfers, and Permanent Resident cases.
  • Mitigate risk to the organization by ensuring compliance in all immigration casework.
  • Advise and provide recommendations to HR partners and hiring leaders regarding immigration requirements, strategies, and timelines.
  • Monitors and acts on relocation and immigration reports for accurate information, expiry dates and visa extensions, initiating new cases, if and where necessary.
  • Develop and manage relationships with Third Party Vendors as appropriate to support day to day work.
  • Continually evaluate operational efficiency and recommending process improvements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and external seminars to enable professional development.
  • Create purchase requisitions, review & approve invoices.
  • Manage and prepare business travel letters where appropriate.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or other similar degree.
  • Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) or Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designation preferred.
  • 3-5 year of experience in North America relocations including cross border and/or global immigration/relocation administration.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Guaranteed Buyout (GBO) and Buyer Value Option (BVO) programs.
  • Prior experience managing the full relocation cycle for employees at all levels of the organization is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with immigration and taxation as it relates to relocations.
  • Previous experience in international human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience working with international payroll or tax issues ideal.
  • Experience with SAP/Success Factors, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work with multiple functions and employees at all levels in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, fast paced team environment.
  • Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers, team members, and vendors outside of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Ability to provide recommendations as it relates to Nutriens HR and Global Mobility policies.
  • Strategic, analytical and problem-solving mid-set.
  • Ability to manage multiple pieces of work simultaneously meeting required deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
