The Director, Workforce Planning will lead the strategic design, development, and governance of a global workforce planning framework across upstream, midstream, downstream, and corporate functions. Operating within a Centre of Expertise (CoE), this role enables long-term workforce readiness, agility, and alignment with business strategy by providing data-driven insights, processes, and tools. The execution of workforce planning will be supported by HR Business Partners embedded across the value chain. This role ensures that workforce plans are integrated with business priorities, anticipate future talent needs, and align resources with organizational goals, fostering a proactive approach to addressing workforce risks and opportunities.

 

What you will do:

 

Strategic Workforce Planning Leadership:

  • Design and manage the global workforce planning framework, ensuring scalability and adaptability across diverse operating segments.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable workforce planning insights and solutions.
  • Partner with HR leaders and executives to anticipate and address workforce risks and opportunities.

Governance and Integration:

  • Establish global standards, tools, and methodologies for workforce planning.
  • Ensure alignment between workforce plans, operating segment strategies, and financial budgets.
  • Provide governance oversight for consistent application of workforce planning processes across regions and functions.

Enablement and Capability Building:

  • Enable HR Business Partners and leaders with training, tools, and analytics for effective execution of workforce planning.
  • Build organizational capability to integrate workforce planning into decision-making processes.

Analytics and Insights:

  • Drive advanced workforce analytics to forecast future workforce needs and assess gaps.
  • Deliver actionable insights to inform talent strategies, succession planning, and cost optimization.
  • Monitor global workforce trends and translate them into strategic recommendations.


What you will bring:
 

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • 15 + years of experience and 5 or more years of experience in workforce planning, or a related strategic HR role.
  • Experience in analytics and reporting.
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects across global functions and geographies.
  • Proficiency in leading cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in driving transformation and building organizational capabilities in workforce planning.
  • Strong skills in coaching, training, and enabling HR teams to execute workforce planning effectively.
  • Advanced ability to interpret and leverage workforce data to provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in workforce analytics, scenario modeling, and financial planning integration.
  • Ability to align workforce strategies with broader business priorities.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and their impact on workforce dynamics.
  • Ability to present complex ideas effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Capacity to navigate ambiguity and adapt to rapidly changing business priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and applying innovative workforce planning practices.
