The Manager, Capital Procurement N&P is a pivotal role to drive quality, collaboration, planning and performance. This role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and efficiency by creating strategies for managing capital spend, supporting complex projects and finding synergies in spend across site projects. This role will also be directly responsible for capital procurement for our Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (TD&L) team. This role will be report to the Director Capital Procurement, Upstream NPK and will involve some travel across North America.
What you will do:
- Develop and drive 5-year procurement strategies for capital projects across N&P production sites.
- Manage capital procurement for the TD&L projects team for owned terminals and feed sites.
- Support site capital procurement staff to set strategies for capital spend based on capital project scope to reduce total cost of ownership and improve risk and supply assurance for the business.
- Develop initiatives to reinforce/improve performance and identify sources of value.
- Represent capital procurement initiatives related to the implementation of processes and tools.
- Coordinate regularly with stakeholders to collect business requirements and drive value for Nitrogen and Phosphate production sites.
- Leverage agreements for materials and services that can be shared across capital projects and support local contracting for site specific needs such as scope definition and compensation frameworks.
- Represent the capital procurement teams interests with the creation, renewal and application of master agreements.
- Collaborate with functional groups including site leaders, site procurement, Category Management and central/site technical groups including Enterprise Capital.
- Promote the early involvement of procurement in projects – ensuring project management documentation better reflects procurement’s role in each stage and education of corporate and site project managers.
- Drive achievement of value creation goals as they relate to efficiency, risk management, project aggregation and supply chain optimization.
- Lead or support larger, more complex capital projects at the sites as well as attending site project meetings in person as required.
- Manage Source to Contract and Procure to Pay processes supporting capital program requirements.
- Manage the planning and development of Planisware (project management) for procurement.
- Manage and develop a team of Sr. Advisors.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is required, MBA/Master’s degree is an asset.
- Certification in Project Management, SCMP designation.
- 10+ years relevant experience in industrial capital projects - management or procurement.
- SAP S4, Ariba, Oracle, Planisware experience.
- Broad experience in supply chain, source-to-contract processes and tools.
- Excellent ability to communicate and influence others.
