The Manager, Business Process Improvement is responsible for leading the improvement efforts of the Commercial Business Unit's business processes and supporting systems, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy and vision of the organization. Additionally, the Manager will work with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions in pursuit of business value and effectiveness. The Manager will also oversee the development and maintenance of process documentation, training materials, and performance metrics for the Commercial Business Unit. This role reports to the Director, Commercial Planning and Business Process Improvement.
What you will do:
- Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of process improvement opportunities across the Commercial Business Unit.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Operations, Sales, TD&L, Commercial Finance, IT, and other stakeholders, to design, develop, and implement process improvement initiatives that align with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of process improvement projects, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, risks, and benefits.
- Create and implement a specific Commercial Business Unit Change Management methodology. Leverage this in day-to-day efforts and scale this methodology by providing training & tools to others in the group.
- Facilitate definition of key Commercial business processes and their specific KPIs. Once defined ensure the processes are maintained and continuously improved.
- Maintain the overall Commercial Policy & Procedure framework and its contents, ensuring relevance to key processes, procedures, and controls required in the Commercial Business Unit. This includes maintaining the Commercial Hub departmental intranet site.
- Monitor and report on the performance and outcomes of process improvement initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics. Identify and communicate any issues, risks, or deviations from expected benefits and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Commercial Business Unit. Promote best practices, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary education with 6+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
- Strong facilitation skills, able to manage and coordinate discussions across diverse stakeholders.
- Significant experience with process documentation and a continuous improvement mindset.
- High degree of personal ownership and accountability for all work products.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines, and competing priorities with limited direct supervision.
- Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications with a high skill level in Excel.
- Passion for data and problem solving, driven by a high level of curiosity.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and drill down to critical components to understand key drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple, concise, and easy-to-understand way.
- Strong relationship-building skills; able to drive cross-functional alignment, work collaboratively, and effectively interact with other core business functions.
- Team spirit, flexible, positive attitude, client-centric focus.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Project Management, or other related disciplines would be an asset.
