Reporting to the Manager, Nutrien Financial Programs, the Senior Programs Analyst applies specialized financial and analytical expertise to the design, evaluation, and performance management of Nutrien Financial programs across North America. This role serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, significantly influencing program strategy, financial outcomes, and decision-making.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Nutrien Financial programs, providing transformational financial and strategic advice to internal stakeholders
- Design, develop, and govern advanced Power BI models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks supporting GAAP/IFRS accounting, executive reporting, and business insights
- Lead integrity efforts related to Nutrien Financial data and affiliated datasets (in-system and/or in HANA) to ensure the accuracy of downstream reporting by NF teams and others used to influence business decisions
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives and task forces focused on improving data quality, reducing manual processes, and enhancing the effectiveness of Nutrien Financial programs touchpoints
- Perform and interpret advanced retrospective and forward-looking financial analysis (e.g., IRR, ROE, profitability trends, scenario modeling) to inform program strategy, pricing assumptions, and long-term program sustainability
- Independently evaluate and recommend new and enhanced finance program opportunities, assessing financial viability, sales growth potential, market share impact, and operational feasibility, based on strategic company goals as the need arises
- Act as a “go-to” resource for less experienced analysts, providing guidance on methodologies, interpretation of results, and resolution of complex analytical or accounting matters
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Financial Reporting, Business Systems, Operations, Transformation, Sales, and external stakeholders to drive system enhancements, process improvements, and scalable reporting solutions
- Lead the pricing, financial structuring, and risk assessment of sponsored finance programs in the U.S. and Canada, including impacts to credit risk, cash flow, working capital, and return metrics
What You'll Bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas: finance, accounting, data analysis, modelling, data cleansing and integrity
- Recognized professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SAP experience required
- Advanced Power BI experience, including data modeling, visualization, and governance
- Advanced financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex and non-routine issues
- Strong professional judgment and the ability to influence decisions through credible, well-supported recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision
- High degree of accountability
- Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights
