Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Portfolio Management, the Manager, Project Management, PMO leads the end‑to‑end delivery of complex, cross‑functional initiatives, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and benefits. This role drives effective execution and builds high‑performing teams to deliver predictable, impactful results.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of large, complex, cross-functional initiatives, from early definition through execution, stabilization, and benefits realization
  • Support early initiative definition by clarifying business problems, defining scope, evaluating solution options, and contributing analysis and recommendations to inform investment decisions with senior leaders
  • Hold internal and external delivery partners accountable for meeting agreed schedule, cost, quality, adoption, and benefit realization commitments
  • Manage integrated project plans, including scope, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies, exercising sound judgment in ambiguous or non-routine situations and escalating through established governance when required
  • Lead technology, procurement, and third-party delivery activities, ensuring vendor performance and effective integration with internal teams
  • Provide clear, decision-ready status updates, forecasts, and recommendations to project sponsors and leadership to support timely decision-making
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination and alignment, enabling effective issue resolution and informed trade-off decisions
  • Ensure delivery transparency and governance discipline through accurate reporting and consistent adherence to PMO standards, processes, and controls
  • Partner with Organizational Change Management (OCM) to support business readiness, stakeholder engagement, and adoption of delivered outcomes
  • Apply and support continuous improvement of PMO standards and practices, providing delivery leadership, coaching, and consistent execution discipline within project teams
  • Manage project financials and procurement activities, including budget development, forecasting, cost control, business case inputs, and contractor selection and performance management
  • Lead project teams and resources effectively by establishing role clarity, guiding team performance, coordinating partners and vendors, and contributing to improvements in tools, standards, and ways of working
  • Deliver work in alignment with company values and safety practices by modeling Nutrien’s values, promoting a safe working environment, and ensuring all project activities comply with safety and corporate standards

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field
  • Experience: 8+ years of project management experience and 5+ years leading corporate-based teams with enterprise level scope and cross functional leadership
  • Certifications: Project management and change management certifications are valued
  • Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues, develop creative solutions, and engage appropriate resources at all levels
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead by example, foster collaboration, and drive stakeholder engagement
  • Execution & Prioritization: Strong ability to prioritize, manage workload, and deliver commitments effectively including ownership of delivery results
  • Decision Making & Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and facilitate discussions to achieve high quality‑ outcomes under ambiguity and complexity
  • Financial Management: Ability to collect, analyze, and report financial information across multiple portfolios reflected in the project
  • Continuous Improvement: Strong focus on driving efficiencies and applying best practices
  • Business Acumen & Systems Thinking: Understanding project performance, organizational development, and enterprise wide‑ impacts
  • Communication & Influence: Ability to communicate effectively across all levels—from staff to executives—in a global, multicultural environment
