This hands-on, individual contributor role will support marketing and agronomic efforts, experiencing a variety of responsibilities. Tasks range from operational support in the spring to providing training sessions in the winter. Work directly with summer crop teams in the field and connect with stakeholders in the fall to prepare for the upcoming year.
What you will do:
- Manage purchases based on retail forecasts to ensure optimal profitability through strong inventory management, logistics, and purchase order planning. This position will focus primarily on the canola product line with attention to mustard and inoculant products.
- Support the field team through planning and execution of sales strategies, inventory management, and marketing programs.
- Collaborate with agronomic teams to provide product knowledge and internal support to divisions, ensuring alignment with grower needs and product positioning.
- Act as a key point of contact for Division Product Managers and the field team to ensure alignment with product line objectives and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to achieve financial and operational goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and field performance to make data-driven recommendations.
- Collaborate daily with internal teams to address inventory issues, support forecasting, and ensure smooth product flow.
- Work closely with leadership on the development of seed sales forecasts and production plans.
- Contribute to strategic departmental projects, assisting in successful implementation and execution.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or Commerce is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in an ag supplier or ag retail work setting.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Previous experience with SAP software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of general agronomic practices with the ability to learn product-specific details.
- Strong tactical planning and execution skills, with a focus on inventory management, field support, and marketing alignment.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively market products and educate a variety of audiences.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, impactful role.
