Reporting to the Director of Procurement Governance and Enablement, in this role, you will lead a team of procurement professionals focused on driving best practices in supplier enablement, onboarding, and the strategic implementation of procurement systems. This role is critical in supporting the operational needs of Nutrien’s Operations and Category Management teams, as well as broader procurement stakeholders.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and execute value and continuous improvement opportunities which will bring sustainable positive impact to the business.
- Effectively partner and maintain positive relationships with other functions to understand and meet the needs of Governance and Enablement’s stakeholders.
- On behalf of Procurement, and in collaboration with other functional stakeholders as necessary, lead, manage, and implement the strategies required to maintain, enhance and optimize systems, supplier integrations and enabling processes across Procurement.
- Lead and manage Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay (together, Source-to-Pay) systems sustainment, enhancement, and governance requirements across NPK and Retail Indirects Operating Segments, and the Corporate function.
- Manage aspects of supplier onboarding into Nutrien’s ERPs and ancillary systems, as well as be the escalation point-of-contact for related issues resolutions.
- Lead improved consistency of utilization and optimization of buy channels and systems functionality, such as Supplier Enablement and Integrations, Ariba Guided Buying, Invoice-against-contract, Catalogs, Supplier Lifecycle Management, among others.
- Provide subject matter expertise and leader and internal stakeholder support for existing ERP and ancillary systems related to procurement processes and utilization.
- Ensure relevant and related stakeholder systems integration and utilization strategies and sustainment models are understood and implemented (i.e.: SH&E, Legal, Integrity, Risk, Enterprise Project Management).
- Support systems utilization and enhancements for warehouse and inventory management and optimization.
- Lead systems optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders in alignment with business needs.
- Lead and manage goods and services buy channel utilization and optimization strategies and roadmaps.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field. MBA/Master’s degree (or equivalent) considered an asset.
- 10+ years relevant industry and leadership experience in progressive strategic sourcing, category/commodity management, supply chain management and/or relevant experience in business management or engineering in applicable operating environments.
- Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement, Inventory Management, Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning preferred.
- Thorough operational knowledge and deep experience in procurement process and systems utilization in SAP, Oracle, and Ariba.
- Motivated, high-energy and self-starter business mindset; proven change agent with excellent facilitation skills.
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills, adaptability/flexibility and the ability to develop innovative concepts, techniques and effectively generate recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience and success in implementing continuous improvement opportunities within procurement and supply chain, earning trust and building positive reputation.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of management and staff; exceptional written communication, oral presentation and influencing skills.
- Hands-on approach with no reservation to roll-up sleeves and perform out of scope duties to get the job done.
