What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the governance and continual improvement of the safety and health components of the Nutrien Way (our integrated management system) to support effective mitigation of material risks
- Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of material safety and health risks, taking a One Nutrien approach, but with primary focus on supporting the Nitrogen operating segment
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve strategic safety and health programs and initiatives, contributing to leadership capability development and fostering a continually evolving positive safety culture
- Support regulatory compliance by monitoring, reporting, and responding to regulatory changes affecting safety and health
- Provide expertise on material safety and health risks and controls to the Nitrogen operating segment as requested through the Nitrogen SHE&S business partners
- Contribute expertise to assurance activities focused on managing safety and health risks and opportunities, with a primary focus on the Nitrogen operating segment
- Lead and coordinate the safety leadership coaching resources for the Nitrogen operating segment, while maintaining consistency of the program and foster cross-segment engagement to bring fresh perspectives
- Engage external stakeholders relevant to the Nitrogen operating segment, with the knowledge of the business partner, to advance safety and health objectives
What You'll Bring:
- Undergraduate degree in safety and health (preferred) or a related field
- Safety professional designation or certification is desired
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years directly supporting the front-line on safety and health matters and programs
- Progressive leadership roles in safety and health within the agricultural, mining, chemical processing, or transportation industries
- Proven experience leading large-scale safety and health initiatives in heavy industrial environments, especially in mining, manufacturing, or chemical operations, and ideally across multiple sites
- A good working knowledge of safety and health regulations, standards and codes of practice relevant to the Nitrogen operating segment
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and assurance activities, supporting the role’s focus on mitigating material risks
- Experience in industry advocacy and collaborative problem-solving
- Copetency and confidence in Microsoft Office Suite and associated systems
