This position plays a key role in the digital development team within Nutrien’s IT Digital Delivery Center (DDC).  The DDC oversees and executes design, development, and delivery of digital and custom solutions for Nutrien.  The DDC focuses on driving value from Nutrien’s strategic digital technology investments by delivering exceptional experiences and placing humans and customer obsession at center of what we do, what we develop and how we deliver and sustain our digital assets.

 

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Application Development.

 

What you will do:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable and efficient software solutions according to project requirements and best practices
  • Managing and optimizing scalable distributed systems on the cloud, optimization of web applications for performance and scalability
  • Working closely with offshore development teams to align on project goals, facilitate knowledge transfer, and ensuring smooth collaboration across different time zones and cultures
  • Collaborating with other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience
  • Conducting thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, maintainability, and scalability, providing constructive feedback to team members and approving pull requests promptly
  • Serving as a technical leader within the team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer engineering/computer science or related field
  • 7+ years of professional programming experience
  • 5+ years of experience working as a .NET or .NET Core developer, and/or previous experience working as a react.js developer, thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS and cloud systems (S3, RDS, API gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB) 
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with using web services, RESTful API, and web protocols
  • Familiarity with Git and Jira experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
