This position is for a Summer 2025 internship beginning in May 2025 and will last approximately 12 to 16 weeks, depending on candidate availability.
What you will do:
- Assist Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) Governance, Emergency Response, Contractor Management, Management System, Analytics, Audit, and Transportation Regulatory teams with tasks such as document management, data entry, compliance tracking, and project coordination.
- Actively learn the structure, purpose, and processes of each SHE function while gaining exposure to strategy, communications, operations, and IT support services. Understand how these elements integrate across Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potash, Terminals, and Nutrien Ag Solutions businesses globally (via the Calgary office).
- Support data collection, reporting, and analysis activities to improve SHE processes, key performance indicators, management system maintenance, audit preparation, and emergency readiness.
- Work collaboratively with SHE leaders, corporate services, and operational teams to support internal projects and initiatives. Support leader communication and coordination across regional and global teams in North America, Latin America, Australia, and Europe.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, show willingness to learn and adapt, contribute ideas for improvements, and embody the company's Culture of Care, with a focus on protecting people, communities, and the environment.
What you will bring:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in Agriculture, Safety, Environmental Engineering, Communications, Business Administration, Logistics, or equivalent four-year degree
- Possess excellent problem resolution and critical thinking skills, and ability to make self-guided decisions within established guidelines
- Experience and proficiency using a variety of software programs and applications with an aptitude to learn new systems, including SAP and Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to take on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize deliverables
