What you will do:   

 

  • Provide agronomic information and advice to current and potential customers – arranging for access to specialists and learning opportunities where necessary
  • Maintain strong relationships with growers and internal teams
  • Analyze current and future agricultural trends and service needs, and collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop and implement strategies that create opportunities
  • Maintain knowledge of Nutrien Ag Solutions product offerings, including features, benefits, and uses
  • Distribute recommendations of annual crop and forage seed varieties to staff and customers
  • Provide crop scouting services for customers in season
  • Collect soil, tissue, weed, pest, and water samples for analysis and interpret data to provide recommendations on fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop inputs to customers
  • Research and respond to technical inquiries
  • Plan and conduct field trials of designated research material using defined methods that will ensure accuracy
  • Interact with Division and Branch Management to convey results and provide recommendations based on active knowledge of marketing requirements 
  • Organize and participate in customer field tours and grower meetings. Present technical information related to fertilizer, seed varieties, pesticide options and other marketing programs 
  • Liaise with appropriate industry contacts 
  • Champion Nutrien’s culture of care and comply with Nutrien, industry regulatory, and EH&S standards
  • Utilize and leverage available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently
  • Perform other related duties, as required

  • In-depth product knowledge and sales abilities
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with team members and customers
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong time management, planning, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of an effective team 

 

What you will bring:   

 

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible agri-business and/or other related customer service function
  • Post-secondary education in Agriculture or equivalent in experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience, which result in the required level of knowledge, competencies, skills, and abilities, may be considered
  • Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Agronomy Degree, CCA or P.Ag. accreditation is not required but will be considered an asset
