Under the general direction of the Loadout Supervisor, the Technician, Loadout is responsible for safe and efficient product movements (both loading and offloading) via truck and rail. This position is also responsible for and operation of assigned loading stations during their shift, controlling and coordinating equipment startups, shutdowns and any emergencies that may arise during shift. The successful candidate for this role will possess the ability to work in a team environment, be self-motivated and work well under high-pressure situations while making safety their top priority. Strong communication skills will also be a critical component for success in this role.

 

This position is a temporary role for 12 months with the possibility of extension. This position is located at our Carseland, Alberta, Canada site and is not available for remote work.

 

What you will do:

  • Safe loading of assigned areas by following standard procedures
  • Control and coordinate the equipment startups, shutdowns and any emergencies that may arise during shift
  • Safe and efficient operation of the assigned rail and truck loading station during their shift
  • Follow all Nutrien safe work policies and procedures
  • Participate in safety program by reporting incidents and taking ownership of submitted work orders
  • Complete preventative maintenance on operating equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Complete progression system within prescribed timeframe
  • Follow current and accurate procedures
  • Work with a team, but work in safety sensitive environment where independence is needed
  • Be able to work outside in all weather conditions with a high degree of physical effort

 

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience working in an industrial setting
  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes in all loading areas
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steer, rail car mover, and front-end loader
  • Experience with loading dangerous product
