What You'll Do:

 

  • ​​Model our core value of safety by leading and enabling a culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment​
  • Partner with Senior Manager, Category Management and stakeholders to develop and manage category strategies for the Specialty Services subcategory by driving the category playbook, identifying value initiatives, managing key global suppliers and agreements, identifying key supplier / site risks and developing mitigation plans 
  • Responsible for partnering with sites to obtain strategic input, operationalize results and manage/direct a comprehensive change management strategy across the sites
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex tasks
  • Comprehensive understanding of Project Management
  • Drive frequent site engagement with site Procurement managers to collect business requirements for sub-categories, site specific risks and opportunities to inform broader category strategies
  • Coach Category Specialists to develop category/spend analytics and market insights tailored to deliver both global category and site level insights  Oversee the development and execution of category KPIs (goals & objectives) aligned to Procurement, Business Units and Site’s GPS procurement goals & objectives that will measure the effectiveness of strategic spend management
  • Lead Quarterly/Strategic Business Reviews (QBR’s) with suppliers, defining KPIs and best practices for supplier performance (i.e. on-time delivery), jointly identifying cost savings levers across sites, inventory optimization (lead times, etc.) and other value-added services.
  • Ensure local suppliers, community partnerships, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion engagement strategies are prioritized and actioned in a collaborative fashion to create sustainable, long-term value for Nutrien and the communities in which we operate
  • Collaborate with peer Category Management, Site Procurement, and Capital Procurement teams to address key Nutrien-wide synergies and ensure value and service level performance expectations are consistently maintainence.

 

What You'll Bring:

​

  • 15+ years relevant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, project management, engineering, or equivalent
  • ​In-depth experience with complex category sourcing activities, including capital projects and turnarounds.
  • ​Broad experience in supply chain, source-to-contract and source-to-pay processes and tools, and a more targeted experience in spend analytics, category strategy development and implementation, competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations & contract negotiation/formation and end to end execution, supplier relationship & contract management and supplier risk management.
  • ​Track record of effectively driving and managing organizational change and influencing diverse audiences to achieve challenging objectives
  • ​Analytical abilities and experience using quantitative insights to make decisions and influence stakeholders ​Experience in leading teams across distributed geographic networks 
  • ​Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Business, Engineering, or similar discipline ​
