Reporting to the West Region Sales Manager, Nutrien Solutions, the Sales Representative plays an important role in and will be responsible to perform the following duties:
What will you do:
- Manage and develop a customer base within a geographical area that includes Central and Northern California.
- Help identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
- Build relationships and increase sales.
- Provide accurate and label directed information for the industrial weed control market.
- Sell into industrial vegetation markets such as the noxious weed market, roadside, utility weed and brush, rangeland, bareground, and aquatics.
- Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
- Protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
- Remain up-to-date with product knowledge and share knowledge with customers.
- Support business growth by conducting face to face sales calls and product/market development.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision. This is a remote sales position that requires problem solving skills, self-reliance, and teamwork.
- Lead and perform work the Nutrien Way – engaging in corporate, policies, programs and practices, including SH&E regulations and standards, to bring our Culture of Care to life.
What will you bring:
- California PCA license is needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, weed science, rangeland management or related discipline required; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years’ experience preferred, as well as experience in the aquatic or industrial weed control industry.
- Proven ability to influence, develop, and retain business relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding communication capabilities, and the ability to influence others at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work effectively with other groups in the organization to achieve a common goal.
- Well-rounded knowledge of industrial weed control products, rangeland herbicides and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The highest ethical standards and sense of accountability.
- Strong computer skills.
- Clear and effective decision making.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (estimated to be 50%) with company vehicle provided.
- Must live in the region or be willing to relocate to the region.

Salary Range $98,400 - $147,600/annually. This range is estimated for a Sales Representative in the State of California. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
