The Corn and Soybean Product Manager, Cornbelt West Region will be the corn and soybean product expert responsible for the Dyna-Gro commercial product portfolio and pre-commercial product testing, advancement, characterization, and agronomic placement recommendations. This role will be responsible for knowledge transfer and product training (train-the-trainer model), developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders in each Division, participating in key meetings and product training field days, and being available for questions and consultations on commercial product performance and placement recommendations. This role will serve as a strong business partner for the Region, collaborating with the Region Seed Manager and Area Manager on annual sales forecasts, demand creation, product pricing strategies, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have an established track-record of developing, deploying, and executing product management strategies and will have a strong background in training, leading, and influencing across a diverse organization.

 

What you will do:
 

  • Coordinate pre-commercial product field trial research, walk field trials, and take plot notes.
  • Conduct pre-commercial product performance analysis and provide advancement recommendations.
  • Conduct demand planning, product lifecycle management, and product utilization activities.
  • Participate in Region forecast activities to support U.S. production plan.
  • Perform as a technical expert for commercial product characterization, performance, and placement.
  • Develop product highlight messages and routine communication schedule.
  • Serve as a business partner to Region Seed Manager, Area Manager, and Territory Managers.
  • Conduct product training using a train-the-trainer model for key stakeholders such as Area Manager, Territory Managers, Seed Managers, Agronomists, and select Crop Consultants and support these individuals throughout the year.
  • Participate in product training field days and key meetings to train, coach, and ensure key stakeholders are able to accurately and confidently represent products during their training events.
  • Support Area Manager with commercial product testing strategy and activities.
  • Support Area Manager with demand creation, product pricing to performance, and programs.

What you will bring:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field; experience may be considered in lieu of education. Master’s Degree (MSc, MBA, etc.) preferred.
  • 8+ years of directly related experience required, preferably in retail and/or Basic Manufacturer agronomy, sales, or marketing in an agriculture-related field. 10+ years preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to correspond comfortably and professionally with a variety of team members, customers, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, educate, and consult key stakeholders on product performance and placement recommendations and support product performance inquiries as needed.
  • High proficiency in experimental design and analysis, developing analytical insights from data, and translating those insights visually into clear and compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and demonstrated ability to articulate long-term plans through a series of shorter-term benchmarks and objectives.
  • Proven success managing multiple projects and working with teams to achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others without positional leadership.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership responsibilities and in cross-functional teams.
  • Technical proficiency with a variety of software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI) and an aptitude for business analytics.
  • Ability to establish trust with others and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
