What You'll Do:

 

    • Issue, monitor, track, and maintain records of safety equipment and safety equipment maintenance: respiratory protection (e.g., SCBA/EBA/Full and Half mask respirators/air cylinders), fall protection (e.g., SRLs, lanyards, harnesses, tripods), fire extinguishers, gas detectors (calibration gas, loaner gas detectors)
    • Conduct post-use inspections, minor repair, and cleaning of safety equipment. Inspect, fill, replace air cylinders and Scott air packs. Coordinate safety equipment repair with approved vendors. Communicate replacement requirements to SHE Manager
    • Management of site radios: maintain an accurate inventory of portable, mobile, and base radios and charging stations. Coordinate offsite radio repairs and rentals. Communicate reported system issues to site SHE Superintendent
    • Manage the iNet lease program and review and act upon iNet notifications to ensure sufficient availability of calibration gas, etc. Troubleshoot and resolve field issues
    • Manage the Personal Gas Detection program on site including troubleshooting and coordinating repairs with vendor as required.
    • Create requisitions as required for servicing and procurement of safety equipment. Co-ordinate annual/certification safety equipment inspections for SEA managed safety equipment (e.g., breathing air compressor, fall protection harnesses, fire extinguishers)
    • Be detail oriented and organized, with a high level of discipline and focus
    • Provide a safety presence in the field as required.
    • Manage the Safety Equipment Budget on an annual basis.
    • Process large volumes of data, and manage time effectively
    • Interact at a customer service level with front line personnel

What You'll Bring:

 

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years relevant experience, preferably including safety equipment functions
  • Familiarity with industrial safety programs/procedures would be an asset.
  • Ability to move and carry items up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders and stairs
  • Proficient with computers and skilled in the use of common Office applications and database management
