Reporting to the Manager, IT Site Support, the IT Analyst at the Cory Potash Mine will join the Cory IT team and become part of larger Potash and Nutrien IT teams. A very talented IT generalist with IT specialist skills, you will be responsible for supporting all the IT systems at Cory. As part of the IT team you be comfortable doing everything from providing support to users to implementing advanced networks to collaborating on the use of innovative technologies to solve business problems.

 

What you will do:
 

  • Be responsible for overall day-to-day IT systems at Cory.
  • Provide support for Cisco network infrastructure that include wired and wireless networks (switches, firewalls, telephony and wireless).
  • Provide support for Windows Servers in a VMware environment.
  • Perform hands on work in the Cory data centers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities such as hardware and application upgrades.
  • Support end user technology including workstations, peripherals, mobile devices, and applications.
  • Work closely with IT partners across Nutrien (site, Potash, wholesale, and enterprise) in evaluating and coordinating activities and advocating on behalf of the Cory sites.
  • Take lead roles in IT projects and initiatives at site.
  • Work in collaboration with the site Operational Technologies (OT) personnel and help establish a synergy between IT and OT domains of work.
  • Provide excellent IT customer support for all users at Cory.

 

What you will bring:
 

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized university or technical school in Computer Systems Technology, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline (an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered).
  • 2-5 years related experience in an IT role preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
  • Certifications from Cisco, VMWare and Microsoft will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage and support all IT systems at site including end user devices, workstations, cameras, networks, servers, and storage.
  • Experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting Cisco network devices including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking including LANs/WAN, TPC/IP, VoIP, VRF and VLAN.
  • Experience with implementing, administering, and managing server compute and storage devices.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing and supporting IP telephony technologies for the delivery of voice communications.
  • Proficiency with VMware server administration and desktop virtualization technology.
  • Proficiency in Windows systems administration including Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Security, DHCP and DNS.
  • Ability to evaluate the technology solutions to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to be kind, courteous and professional and work in the best interests of your customer.
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and make independent decisions within your scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to proven track record in working collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups to solve business problems and execute projects.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage workload and report on progress.
  • Ability to continuously reflect, perform unattached exploration, and be opportunity focused who can bring new ideas forward.
